Gene
Gene was the best friend you could ever hope to have. He was not scared to jump right in and help no matter what situation. He would literally give you the shirt off of his back, and give away maybe what wasn’t’ even his some times.~~~J~~~ That sometimes would get him in trouble, but we knew well enough to understand. He had his friend’s back and most would do the same for him. When some people would walk away from someone who needed help, Gene would stick around. Gene was one of a kind, no other has come close. Gene would see homeless people and go out of his way to buy food for them. Once Gene was at Wal-Mart, and this stranger pulls up to our truck and tells Gene that he doesn’t have enough gas money to get back to where he lived. Gene gave the stranger his last dollar, and turns to me and tells me to give him my money too. I said hell no, I was thinking the stranger would use it for drugs or something less useful than what I would us it for. Gene looks at me like “geessse Miss” so I slap my cash in his huge hand, I pouted for awhile. Gene explained that if someone who was willing to ask for help the least we could do was help them if we can. I then was ashamed of myself. He taught me to trust a little more and to put myself in other’s shoes. I now do that with everything. From what I hear he has made the same impression on many others. Gene has learned from others too. He passed on what he learn to the one’s he loved
