His legacy
Gene

Gene was the best friend you could ever hope to have. He was not scared to jump right in and help no matter what situation. He would literally give you the shirt off of his back, and give away maybe what wasn’t’ even his some times.~~~J~~~ That sometimes would get him in trouble, but we knew well enough to understand. He had his friend’s back and most would do the same for him. When some people would walk away from someone who needed help, Gene would stick around. Gene was one of a kind, no other has come close. Gene would see homeless people and go out of his way to buy food for them. Once Gene was at Wal-Mart, and this stranger pulls up to our truck and tells Gene that he doesn’t have enough gas money to get back to where he lived. Gene gave the stranger his last dollar, and turns to me and tells me to give him my money too. I said hell no, I was thinking the stranger would use it for drugs or something less useful than what I would us it for. Gene looks at me like “geessse Miss” so I slap my cash in his huge hand, I pouted for awhile. Gene explained that if someone who was willing to ask for help the least we could do was help them if we can. I then was ashamed of myself. He taught me to trust a little more and to put myself in other’s shoes. I now do that with everything. From what I hear he has made the same impression on many others. Gene has learned from others too. He passed on what he learn to the one’s he loved

Gene as a brother

Gene was the type of brother a sister could only have to love and understand and enjoy being with.  He always would try his hardest to make his sister let her kids do what they wanted even if it was against her better judgement. He would always tell her to let them be little. That was how he was with his sister and her kids. He was the kids "IDLE".
His plans for his sister was to teach her how to rope, but she seemed to be always pregnant, but he always had fun with her being that way.
He was the best, with a heart of gold, and always did things with his whole heart into them. That is why you had to know him to love him and everyone loved him. Gene .............

Gene's Love
Gene left love for his family and friends.  He showed us how to love and care for each other.  He was especially loved by little kids.  He went out of his way to pay attention to them, give them funny nicknames (Dirtbag, Roadkill) and even leave a puppy in the ditch for them to find when they were not supposed to have it.  He was dearly loved by his nieces and nephews and his own children.  The neices and nephews could not go without seeing their UNCLE GENE, when he was around.  He would romp and wrestle with them and just do anything to make them laugh.  He made and each one of them feel special.
Gene would hunt and help his family out on the farm whenever  he could.  Even when he caught heck for something, he  would always come back  to them because he knew the love was there.
If Gene got one of his friends mad at him.  He would always come back a few days later and apologize and things would be forgotten.
His wife, Missa, was his one true love until his daughter Abby came along.  He hurried to make little men out  of his two sons, Seth and Devin.
And of course, he was his mama's baby.  Even though he tried to act big and tough.
